Obex Medical Debbie Booth Award
Bron Taylor (Auckland Hospital) won the Obex Medical Debbie Booth Award at the Perioperative College Conference in Sept 2022.
Bron presented her research on “Nurse Staffing in the Operating Room” which focussed on identifying key factors senior perioperative nurses consider when making decisions about OR nurse staffing.
Her presentation was very timely as the Healthcare system struggles with workforce issues and how to ensure safe staffing levels.
Bron was very excited to win the Obex Medical Debbie Booth Award and looks forward to using the prize money to attend an educational Conference.
Debbie Booth was a Radiology nurse who was well respected and a founding member of the Radiology Nurses support organisation CRISP in the mid 1980’s. Tragically Debbie passed away not long after the CRISP Group was formed and this award acknowledges her significant contribution to nursing in New Zealand.
